Dear Michigan Employee:
Conference office, church, and school operations that must continue in-person tasks to conduct minimum basic operations and other permissible duties are required to adopt social distancing practices and other mitigation measures, per the executive order 2020-21.
These measures are stated in the mandate, and we’re asking all entities to strictly comply with the following.
Restricting the number of workers present on premises to no more than is strictly necessary to perform the business’s or operation’s critical infrastructure functions.
Promoting remote work to the fullest extent possible.
Keeping workers and patrons who are on premises at least six feet from one another to the maximum extent possible, including for customers who are standing in line.
Increasing standards of facility cleaning and disinfection to limit worker and patron exposure to COVID-19, as well as adopting protocols to clean and disinfect in the event of a positive COVID-19 case in the workplace.
Adopting policies to prevent workers from entering the premises if they display respiratory symptoms or have had contact with a person who is known or suspected to have COVID-19.
Any other social distancing practices and mitigation measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control.
Social Media Protocol
In light of these measures, we’re asking all churches, schools, departments, and employees to be very cautious when posting pictures and videos on social media platforms. The state order mandates that all workers on premises are to remain six feet from one another to the maximum extent possible. We are to assume that when posing for pictures and shooting video where personnel are grouped together does not constitute the maximum extent.
Therefore, we are asking for each to cooperate with the following:
For photos: Pictured individuals are to maintain distance of six or more feet
For videos: Maintain distance of six or more feet to the maximum extent possible. If the six feet maximum is not maintained, insert some text/wording in the video that provides an explanation. It can also be stated in the caption or heading of the social media post.
Please use common sense, be practical, and maintain the spirit of the law when exceptions are made. Please note, the order is in effect through April 13, 2020, and the willful violation of this order is considered a misdemeanor.
