Diane Barlow, superintendent of schools for the Michigan Conference, recently announced she will be retiring at the end of April. She has served as both the associate and superintendent of schools for the past seven years. She and her husband, Marc, will be moving to Tennessee to be closer to family. Her sweet disposition and godly spirit will be sorely missed.
Jeremy Hall will be moving into the position as superintendent of schools for the Michigan Conference beginning in May. He has been serving as associate superintendent since 2013.
Jeremy was both homeschooled and educated through the Michigan Conference education system. He attended Holly Elementary School, Adelphian Junior Academy, and is a graduate of Great Lakes Adventist Academy (GLAA). Jeremy has a Masters in Community Counseling degree from Andrews University and a Limited License in Pyschology, which has proved invaluable in his ministry as a teacher and administrator. He is also an NAD certified and commissioned teacher. Just prior to his work as associate superintendent, he served as the principal of Indiana Academy. He also spent time serving as boy’s dean, chaplain, and Bible teacher at GLAA.
We praise the Lord for fulfilling this great need at a time when Adventist education is needed now more than ever. Diane Barlow has full confidence in Jeremy and believes “God has called him for a time such as this.”
Let us continue to pray for Diane, Jeremy, the education administrative team, and the future of Adventist education in the Michigan Conference.
